El Hotel del Salto Tuquendama, Colombia

The Hotel del Salto in the Tuquendama Falls area of Colombia first opened it's doors in 1928 and was a premier destination for wealthy tourists. Over the years the Bogotá river became more and more contaminated, and the hotel saw declining visitors. A 1950 attempt to reconstruct the hotel into an 18-story building was never realized, and in the 1990s the hotel was finally closed and abandoned altogether. The building has since been the site of a number of suicides and the hotel is now rumored to be haunted.
